Joining the Crowd
I have never seen so many gulls at Bear river.
They were noisy and stayed very close to each other.
From time to time some gulls joined this big group. They did it in a very bold
way trying to get in the middle of the group.
There wasn't any consideration how they would land.
Would they be accepted by
other gulls? The gulls just did it.
I guess these are Franklin's gulls but I am not sure.

Any orchestra needs a conductor.
ReplyDeletegregariousness is noisy and reassuring.
ReplyDeleteNice photos of a bunch of squawkers. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of gulls .... they are far too noisy for me and they have a habit of diving at anyone who they think is encroaching on their territory during nesting season. My thoughts go to the Alfred Hitchcock film, "The Birds," whenever I see two or more of them together ....
ReplyDeleteNice series of photographs, Kaya ....
i could watch gulls all day - i love it when it is windy and they "float" with the wind. nice pics.
ReplyDeleteYou have correctly identified them as Franklin’s Gulls, Kaya, and they are staging for migration. Soon they will be leaving for South America and you won’t be seeing them again until next spring.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! They are so noisy!
ReplyDeleteThese are some great photos that you took of the seagulls, the quality and clarity of these pictures is great. Nicely done! Thanks for the share, have a fantastic rest of your day. Keep up the posts.

ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
