Female Black-chinned Hummingbird

She flew from the shrub with red berries to the flower and stayed there for a few precious seconds and then she was back to the berry shrub. She was so gracious, elegant, tiny and beautiful...

In a few days I came to the same spot to see the Hummingbird again.  I waited for almost twenty minutes hoping that the bird will be there (very naive) but she never reappeared.

In the Wasatch Mountains - IV.

This Northern Flicker was the only bird I photographed this morning in the Wasatch mountains and I was happy that he stayed for a few seconds on the dead tree letting me to take a few photos.

I didn't see before Northern Flickers in the mountains, not on the trails I usually hike and meeting this bird was a morning blessing.

Autumn already arrived in the Wasatch mountains and the trees slowly are dressing in vibrant festive colors.  In the valley it's still summer.

This Black-chinned Hummingbird I photographed in July.  The Hummingbirds already left the Wasatch mountains and this morning was silent without them.

The Ground Squirrel decided to enjoy the warm peaceful morning on the top of rock.  He stayed there for a while and then went on a hunt for food.

Spring in the Wasatch Mountains - X.

A Black-chinned hummingbird is a very small bird that has no brilliant colors, his bill is long and slender. I see these birds often while I am hiking, they like to perch in open places on branches.

Female California Quail.  There were the male and female California Quails in the dense forest. The male disappeared so fast but the the female stayed for a few seconds.

That was such a nice and fragrant moment....

This is my first male House finch. I have never seen him before and was happy to photograph this bird.  A House finch is a small with rosy red around the face and upper breast.

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher is looking for seeds.  I see often these birds in the mountains, they are my favorites.
