First time I saw the Сausey Dam, I had a feeling that I traveled in time and arrived on another planet.  In front of me was a gorgeous alpine lake (reservoir) nestled in the canyon.

The reflections in the water of the Causey Dam were so surreal that I couldn't take my eyes off them.  All that remained is to wait for someone to swim on kayak into this backwater. Luckily, the red kayak was not long in coming.  Rare luck!

Summer in Utah -I.

I am always impressed by brave people who are kayaking or canoeing on Causey Reservoir. 

To get to reservoir you have to drive up, up and up on the winding road. The Causey Reservoir lies at elevation about 5,700 feet (1,700 meters).  The drive is very scenic and nice.

By the way, the difference between canoeing and kayaking is the paddle used. The man on the photo above is canoeing, he uses a single-bladed paddle.  Kayak paddlers usually use a double-bladed paddle.
