Together



I took these photographs in May, 2018.  Snowy Egret and Great Egret were sharing one space. They stayed very close.



The male Great Egret.  During the breeding season he develops a green color around his eyes. You can see this color.

    Is it the Western one ? Ardea alba egretta ?

      Yes, the Great White Egret or Ardea alba. Or Grande Aigrette.

    They are beautiful. You are perceptive and you have seen the green color of a great heron and you know why it is :)

    gorgeous birds and the clarity of your photos makes me want to trash my own camera, lol. My good camera broke and I've been using one I really don't love.

    I guess I would prefer the Great Egret over the Snowy Egret, if for no other reason than the green around his eyes. There are times a touch of subtle coloring means a lot.

    Marvelous photographs, Kaya. It would be a good day for you to be here with your camera. It is snowing and ducks and geese are circling the neighborhood by the score .... fantastic sight, but no fun shoveling ....
