Together
I took these photographs in May, 2018. Snowy Egret and Great Egret were sharing one space. They stayed very close.
The male Great Egret. During the breeding season he develops a green color around his eyes. You can see this color.
Snowy Egret.
Is it the Western one ? Ardea alba egretta ?
ReplyDeleteYes, the Great White Egret or Ardea alba. Or Grande Aigrette.
DeleteQue curioso como cambia de color a rededor del ojo, bonitas tomas, Kaya.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
En la primera esta muy desafiante, el resto mas tranquilos. Bonita entrada, Kaya.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo i que tengas buena semana.
Amazing! I've never noticed that green on them before.
ReplyDeleteThese birds are stately and magnificent, Kaya, and you have captured that aspect well.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful. You are perceptive and you have seen the green color of a great heron and you know why it is :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous birds and the clarity of your photos makes me want to trash my own camera, lol. My good camera broke and I've been using one I really don't love.
ReplyDeleteGraceful birds in photos. Graceful photos!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, I especially loved the 2nd it is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteWarm Hugs

Divagar Sobre Tudo um Pouco
Bonitas fotos de la garza blanca y curioso cambio de color en el macho.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
I guess I would prefer the Great Egret over the Snowy Egret, if for no other reason than the green around his eyes. There are times a touch of subtle coloring means a lot.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous photographs, Kaya. It would be a good day for you to be here with your camera. It is snowing and ducks and geese are circling the neighborhood by the score .... fantastic sight, but no fun shoveling ....
Cuatro bellas fotografías para mostrarnos a la garza en todo su esplendor. Es increíble la fuerza que tiene ese ojo amarillo de las garzas.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo,
wonderful...green color is a sign of how beauty nature works.
ReplyDeletehave a great day
Unas imagenes magnificas... Muy buenas capturas. Que animales tan bellos
