We were learning English (actually, British) to go to London. One day, hopefully.

We were learning math so we could learn more math. If we didn't take geometry, we couldn't take trigonometry and et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...

We were learning history because we were told, if we didn't learn it we were destined to repeat it.
***
We were learning literature, not to write poetry but to take delight in it.

Life lessons were different. They couldn't be taught. You went through them on your own, learning that it is your life, your choices, your mistakes and your lessons.

ReplyDeleteMuy bonito, besos.
Besos
I looked at a number of paintings by Arunas Zylis, and especially like the associations he establishes between people and birds and other animals and, of course, his work with people in boats. Living by a sea, I would expect the latter.
ReplyDeleteOur experiences in education were very similar, Kaya. As for life experiences, I am in constant amazement that none of mine ever killed me.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
Extraordinaria. Un abrazo.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% with you....experience is the best teacher
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting, amazing mix of colours. I do not know this painter, well now I know him a little bit more.:)
ReplyDeleteWe learn all the time, we should try to be good learners. I try, I truly try to be a good student of life. :)
Dear Kaya, I am sending you lots of love. :*****
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo,
oh i see i can comment here - i like this i'll have to look up more by this person.
