Immature Hawks

Yesterday at Bear River I photographed only immature hawks. Adults were not approachable.  My every slight movement was interpret by them as a threat.

Unfortunately, I know so little about hawks.  I believe that I photographed Rough-legged Hawks.

I am not proud of these photographs. The only way I was able to capture these little ones is to hold my lens in the doorway of my car.  Awkward but little ones weren't scared.

Sunrise at Bear River in December.

Yesterday desert was very cold but peaceful. No strong wind, only heavy clouds.

  2. Someone is photographing them standing behind a mirror and removing the lens to photograph through a circle cut in the mirror.

  4. I don't like the cold but the sky and sunsets in December are beautiful - We can actually see the ocean from Rim Hwy up in the mountains and the ocean is about 75 to 80 miles away. It's only in the end of fall/beginning of winter when we can see the ocean at the sun is setting and it lights up the ocean. nice hawk pics - ..

  8. I do not care for birds of prey and try to frighten away any which enter my neighborhood, but I do enjoy seeing photographs of them. It often is squirrels and other birds which signal the proximity of prey birds.

Actually, I like the photograph of the tree best among this group, Kaya .... something about lone trees and wide open spaces, I guess ....

  10. Oh Dear Kaya, you should be proud of these photos, I am proud of you. They are truly beautiful and so moody (I hope the word moody is fine here). Sending you lots of love, have a very very nice day. :*****
