That day the sky over Antelope Island was covered with heavy dark clouds and nothing I could do about it. I told to myself that I would use all available light and do my best but there were no birds around until I saw a Western Meadowlark who was perching on a sage bush.
Most of Western Meadowlarks are too skittish and often too far away but this Meadowlark was luckily close and stayed on a sage bush for a few minutes.
The colors are just as beautiful as those of a Renaissance painting.
ReplyDeleteThe bird can be proud of being photographed!
Beautiful!
Besos
I think the "softness" of the background and the foreground are what make this photograph, Kaya. The meadowlark in sharp, detailed focus makes it the centerpiece; the object of and for admiration.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the song of the meadowlark and seeing your photograph made me realize how infrequent I hear it these days living where I do. Another reason to flee the city for the country.
what a beautiful picture: exact and so alive
ReplyDeleteFuiste muy afortunada al verlo Kaya. Felicidades.
a colorful bird...beautiful
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
wowowow ...I LOVE this. first bird i ever sketched was a western meadowlark.
ReplyDeleteUna imagen que es toda delicadeza. Me encanta, amiga
