Young Bald Eagle at Bear River

There are two dead trees at the Bear River MBR that serve as a resting place for Bald Eagles during the winter.

If you are lucky you can see two or one of those raptors on those trees but to photograph them is always a challenge. First, you have to walk in the open field for almost a mile and half and be under surveillance of Bald Eagles who have an astounding vision.

The Eagles may allow you to get a little bit closer, but not close enough to take clear photos.

Over the last few years I tried to walk very cautiously in this open field but never succeed to get closer to Bald Eagles.  This morning was different. I was able to approach a young Bald Eagle that wasn't mature enough to be extremely cautious.

Generally, life is good!

  4. It is a young, strong, beautiful, fearless specimen, even if it seems a little unconscious.
