I didn't know what was waiting for me when I got to the Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve. To my surprise, I found an open beautiful wetland with wonderful wildflowers and a wooden boardwalk that meandered through this wetland.
Heading to the Observation tower.
The first bird I saw in this place was a female Rufous Hummingbird.
The boardwalk was nice but it creaked under my feet. I tried to walk very quietly but managed to scare a Virginia Rail who took off in front of my nose and later a Pheasant disappeared in the tall grass as soon as it detected the noice.
Generally, life is good!
