While watering my garden this morning I heard a gentle noise as someone was drumming on the wood. I looked around trying to understand where the noise was coming from and saw a Downy Woodpecker on our pine tree. He was so close that I could touch him.
To grab my camera took a few minutes hoping that the Downy Woodpecker would be still there. And he was!
The Woodpecker was drumming at slow rate, ten-fifteen taps per second but frequently the Woodpecker paused, just for a few seconds and those seconds were a blessing, I could capture a few shots of this hardworking guy.
Generally, life is good!
