Hundreds American White Pelicans at the Bear River

During my last visit to Bear River at the end of August there were hundreds American White Pelicans.  Some of them were still juveniles.

Soon the Pelicans will departure to Mexico where they will spend fall and winter.

The Pelicans migrate in large flocks during the day.  They will fly gracefully spreading their wings wide. When they will be ready to land they would slide on their feet onto the water.  It's a long and exhausting migration but Pelicans are strong birds and will make it.

I am a little bit sad about their departure, it's like the best friends are leaving you but there will be another spring and the Bear River will welcome again these amazing birds.

Generally, life is good!
