Greater Yellowlegs at Farmington Bay

Seeing a Greater Yellowlegs at Farmington Bay was surprising. These birds are migratory and spend winters the southeast and the southwest U.S., California, Mexico and Central America.

But the past few winters have been milder than normal and probably in the future we can see these birds all winter long.

This Greater Yellowlegs was photographed on December 27th last year at Farmington Bay.  It was foraging in the open water.

Generally, life is good!
