Watching a Rough-legged Hawk landing on the snowy shore was a real treat. My guess is that Roughie didn't have any idea for what purpose did he land on one of the rocks but since he was there, he decided to explore this place.
The Hawk is on the stone with his both legs, balancing comfortably. But what are you going to do next?
Probably, before jumping on ice, you need to take all the precautions. What if the ice is thin and would crack?
I wasn't sure that it was very exciting for Roughie to be in this place even if it was secluded and safe. Standing on ice surely was boring.
Who wants to stand still on ice when there are so many fine trees around where you can perch and observe the world. Right?
Generally, life is good!
