The birds life on the Bear River MBR is always unpredictable and can easily surprise you and amaze. On one of December frosty mornings I saw a few Great Egrets sharing one space with two Pelicans who for some unknown reason have not migrated in time.
From time to time Egrets have spent time on the marshy bank.

The Egrets and Pelicans were busy fishing, they didn't compete for territory and for food. That was a true togetherness that you don't see often.
Generally, life is good!
They are as beautiful as fresh snow.
