In the early morning you can meet a variety of wildlife on Antelope Island. Thus, a little Desert Cottontail settled comfortably between the rocks and was nibbling on the fresh grass.
It's always a challenge to photograph Desert Cottontails. They are very skittish and take off as soon as they notice you. So, I am very pleased that this one was busy with his breakfast and stayed calm.
A Western Kingbird is holding tightly his catch.
These birds feed on variety of insects, especially wasps, bees, beetles and grasshoppers.
I believe that this is a Savannah Sparrow; the first bird I found on the Garr Ranch (Antelope Island). It was a very short encounter but wonderful.
Generally, life is good!
You got some wonderful photos - the rabbit and the western king bird, wow...my favorites.
