While pelicans are pelicans no matter where you go, I can't shake the feeling that the Bear River MBR pelicans are different from the ones in Huntsville. At the Bear River MBR, American White Pelicans gather in large groups, whereas here they are scattered and often spend their time alone.

The pelican above caught my eye when it tilted its head back, opened its beak wide, and let out a hearty yawn.
Generally, life is good.
