Before Sunset

This photograph I took in June. It was a warm late evening at the Bear river when I saw a Double-crested Cormorant on a log. He was enjoying the last sun rays while drying his wings.  Cormorants don't have waterproof feathers, they often spread their wings to dry them.

  1. My caption for this photograph would be: "See me, world .... I can overcome any and every obstacle you might place in my path ...."

Actually, the photograph seems very unique to me, Kaya, and therefore very special ....

  2. The bird warmed the sun and would become stronger before it flew.

  3. Great shot of a bird that we should all admire. It is very faithful to its partner and could be a model for human conduct.

  5. Un encuadre perfecto y un manejo del foco estupendo. El cormorán, con sus alas abiertas, aprovechando los últimos rayos del atardecer para secar su plumaje.
    Un abrazo,
