At the beginning of their arrival the Snow Egrets prefer for a while to stay in the marshes but later they will move to more open places. I also noticed that the Egrets are not so shy at the beginning but later when the breeding starts they will be more cautious.
This Egret was looking for food in the very shallow marsh. The sun shone through his feathers and they looked so transparent, so light.
This photograph is a backlit photograph. I usually try to avoid situations like this but this time everything fell into place nicely.
