Sandhill Crane at Bear River MBR

Seeing Sand Hill Cranes on the Bear River during summer is a rarity. On that August morning there were two of them. One of them kept a distance while the other was rather brave and got closer.

Looking at this photo now, I think that the Crane was a female.  She was very feminine and elegant.  Although it is possible that I am wrong.

Life goes on.

  1. As is often the case; the male is larger than the female.

    1. They are supposed to breed in this area but I have never seen them with their young ones.

  3. Realmente es un/a ave elegante. Lo del sexo es mas complicado, aunque normalmente en el mundo de las aves los machos suelen ser mas grandes y atractivos.
    Un abrazo y cuídate
