Unlike us, ladybugs can't generate their own body heat. When you see them sitting still like this in the morning, they are often basking.
They orient themselves to catch the maximum amount of sunlight, essentially using their body as tiny solar panels to get their muscles warm enough to fly.
Generally, life is good.

Todo un proceso natural, una rutina absolutamente cotidiana que logra que estas mariquitas puedan iniciar su actividad sin risa (tal vez los humanos deberíamos aprender de este modo de iniciar cualquier actividad) y de esta forma vivir con tranquilidad y con una buena carga de paciencia.

Que bien has captado en las tres fotografía a la mariquita. Unas excelentes macros. La desventaja de los insectos y de todos los animales de sangre fría es que necesitan del calor del sol para activarse.

ReplyDeleteFor much of my life I had a fear of most bugs-- except ladybugs. Now I've even been known to take a wayward stink bug outside after admonishing it to go elsewhere. But a couple of years back we had a LOT more ladybugs than usual, and I was allowing some to walk on my hand. One bit me! Really! I never knew they could bite. I survived.
