The Jewel of the Marsh

The pond held its breath as the Wood duck glided by.

Returning to bird photography feels like reconnecting with a language I once knew by heart—a slow rediscovery of the quiet 'why' behind the obsession

Generally, life is good.

  2. Stunning. And to think that this bird breeds in a tree...

Enhorabuena.
    Un abrazo

  5. I absolutely love this sentiment. Returning to something you once loved really does feel like revisiting a language you once spoke fluently—there’s a mix of nostalgia, comfort, and discovery all at once. I can imagine how bird photography lets you slow down, observe, and connect with the world in a way that’s both intimate and meditative. It’s beautiful how these passions remind us of the deeper ‘why’ behind what we love, and how returning to them can feel like coming home to a part of ourselves we hadn’t realized we’d missed."

  7. These photos are gorgeous! Glad you are inspired again and connecting with nature. (I haven't been on my laptop hardly at all in the last weeks ...months...I've missed so much).
