It's a wonderful image of this old tree silhouetted against the sky. It has a timeless quality about it. If only that tree could talk to us about all the people who have passed by it. What stories it could tell.
I agree .... the first photograph is the best both in a technical sense and in an artistic sense, although I sort of prefer the second shot because the earth is faintly visible in the first and only the sky is visible in the second.
Never met a tree I did not love .... big ones, little ones, ancient ones, all types, all sizes ....
