Last May on ordinary cloudy day I met a few Ring-necked ducks at Bear River. They were "one day wonder", meaning it was the only day I found them on the river.
While watching the ducks I thought how nice it would be if one of these ducks showed courage and swam closer to the shore.
The bravest one turned out to be a breeding male Ring-necked duck (photo above) and I was immensely grateful to him.
Generally, life is good!
