Sandhill Crane During Sunrise at Bear River

One week ago I photographed a Sandhill Crane who was on the field without his mate.  He even gave a long wonderful call and later took flight showing how graceful and strong he was.

If you heard once a song of Sandhill Crane you will remember it for the rest of your life. It's very loud and startling.

The Crane stands tall with a great dignity.

Last walk. Soon the Crane will take off and will be gone.

    1. Cão, thank you for the link! I was surprised that Alaska also have Sandhill Cranes.
The mate was somewhere close building a nest.

  3. In the first photo he seems to be singing to the sky.
    Perfectly detached tones and subject.

  7. Your crane is regal, Kaya, and your photographs display him splendidly. His colors blend perfectly in this lighting with the terrain.

    Fabulous work ....
