One week ago I photographed a Sandhill Crane who was on the field without his mate. He even gave a long wonderful call and later took flight showing how graceful and strong he was.
If you heard once a song of Sandhill Crane you will remember it for the rest of your life. It's very loud and startling.
The Crane stands tall with a great dignity.
Last walk. Soon the Crane will take off and will be gone.

Cão, thank you for the link! I was surprised that Alaska also have Sandhill Cranes.
DeleteThe mate was somewhere close building a nest.
Its scientific denomination is Antigone canadensis ...

In the first photo he seems to be singing to the sky.
ReplyDeletePerfectly detached tones and subject.
I wish we had these birds out here - they are so pretty . Great captures.

Your crane is regal, Kaya, and your photographs display him splendidly. His colors blend perfectly in this lighting with the terrain.
ReplyDeleteFabulous work ....
Una hermosa grulla a la que has fotografiado con gran precisión y nitidez. Seguro que su canto, al amanecer, debe de ser único.
